Richard Terlouw is a Procurement Manager for the Royal Caribbean Group. With his team of dedicated buyers, Richard leads the sourcing, procurement, and value creation across several food categories, including meats and grocery.
Richard started on the supplier/distribution side of the cruise business living in Europe. With 15 years of experience in dedicated global food procurement for cruise lines and military catering supply in Europe, Africa and Middle East, Richard joined the Royal Caribbean group as buyer in 2009 and developed a strong European procurement structure and rolled that out along with the company’s growth to ships sailing in the Middle East and Africa.
Today, Richard is based in the Group’s headquarters in Miami. He is involved in export compliance and sustainable sourcing to meet the Group’s ambitious ESG goals. Beside a vast experience in global sourcing and food knowledge, he brings a strong analytical skill set and knows how to develop supplier partnerships to deliver value and achieve the Group’s objectives.
